Summary: 

Providence Solutions is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and maintenance of our Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle database administration, a keen attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design, install, and configure Oracle databases based on business requirements and best practices. 
• Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of Oracle databases. 
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, data replication, patching, and upgrades. 
• Develop and implement database recovery and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability. 
• Perform database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and maintain optimal performance. 
• Identify, analyze, and resolve database performance issues, making appropriate recommendations to improve performance. 
• Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other IT team members to optimize database performance and functionality. 
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, including training and mentoring junior DBAs. 
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on database design, configuration, and maintenance procedures. 
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure optimal database performance and security. 

Requirements: 

• Security Clearance 
• CompTia Security + 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA, managing Oracle 12c and above. 
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, including RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). 
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning techniques. 
• Experience with Oracle database backup and recovery solutions, such as RMAN and Data Pump. 
• Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools, such as Oracle Grid Control and Toad. 
• Knowledge of operating systems, including Linux, UNIX, and Windows Server. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex database issues. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
